Mullumbimby Ex-Services Club Unveils $4.5 Million Renovations: A New Era of Comfort, Entertainment, and Community
After months of anticipation, Mullum Ex-Services Club is proud to announce the completion of its extensive $4.5 million renovation project. Set to reopen its doors on Friday, March 15th, the transformed club promises an unparalleled experience for members and the community alike.
In addition to the physical renovations, the Club is committed to its role as a cornerstone of the community, contributing approximately $25,000 annually through club grants and sponsorships. The project will sustain employment for 20 dedicated staff members and support the livelihoods of 20 local contractor businesses that work directly for or within the club. This ongoing commitment underscores Mullumbimby Ex-Services Club’s dedication to supporting local initiatives and fostering economic growth within the community.
With a significant investment of $4.5 million, Mullum Ex-Services has spared no expense in revitalising its facilities to meet the evolving needs and preferences of its patrons. Here’s a breakdown of the exciting changes:
Furniture: Over $200,000 has been dedicated to furnishing the club with modern, comfortable seating throughout the new areas and existing lounges, ensuring a welcoming atmosphere for all visitors.
Cutting-Edge Entertainment: An impressive $60,000 has been allocated towards state-of-the-art TVs and sound systems, including a whopping 98″ TV for live sports action, enhancing the viewing experience for sports enthusiasts and entertainment seekers.
New Bar and Service Areas: The renovation includes the introduction of a new bar and service areas, designed to streamline operations, and elevate the overall service experience.
Enhanced Amenities: Members and guests can look forward to enjoying a new set of amenities, including a spacious outdoor deck and bar area, children’s playground equipped with captivating elements, and improved café and coffee offerings.
Modern TAB Sports Bar: A dedicated TAB sports bar area has been created, featuring self-betting terminals and 17 new LED TVs, catering to punters and sports fans.
Speaking about the renovations, General Manager Andrew Spice, expressed his excitement, stating, “The new Club layout is so open and bright. We have much more seating for dining on our new outdoor deck area, and new furniture in the lounge and sports bar should provide comfort for our members and guests.”
The decision to embark on the renovation was driven by feedback from members, indicating a desire for a refreshed ambience and improved facilities. By modernizing its offerings, Mullumbimby Ex-Services Club aims to attract a younger demographic, with a particular focus on families with young children and sports enthusiasts.
In addition to enhancing the club experience, the renovations pay homage to its heritage. The Club’s original squash court building has been preserved, with features like a LED strip light marking the old squash court wall lines, serving as a reminder of its rich history.
As Mullumbimby Ex-Services Club prepares to welcome guests back, it looks forward to offering an unparalleled experience that combines modern amenities, comfort, and community spirit. The official Opening Weekend will take place over three days, Friday 22nd March to Sunday 24th March 2024.
